This song has become my “life song” – and I can truly attest to the truth behind every word. Don’t ever let yourself wander so far away as to forget how good God has been to you. My God is good – ALL the time He is good.
Let this bless your heart. I love you all – but more importantly, God loves you SO much. How much do YOU love Jesus?
“Were It Not For Grace”
Verse 1:
Time measured out my days – life carried me along—
In my heart I yearned to follow God,
But knew I’d never be so strong.
I looked around the world and surely Heaven cannot be gained.
People working to attain,
But human effort is all in vain.
Chorus:
Were it not for grace I can tell you where I’d be:
Wandering down some pointless road to nowhere
Let this bless your heart. I love you all – but more importantly, God loves you SO much. How much do YOU love Jesus?

People working to attain,
But human effort is all in vain.
Chorus:
Were it not for grace I can tell you where I’d be:
Wandering down some pointless road to nowhere
With my salvation up to me.
I know how that would go – the battles I would face—
Forever running, but losing the race...
Were it not for grace.
Verse 2:
So here is all my praise – expressed with all my heart!
Offered to the Lord Who took my place
And ran the race I could not start.
And though He knew in full just how much His love would cost
He still walked that final mile to Calvary’s cross
So I would not be lost.
Chorus:
Were it not for grace I can tell you where I’d be:
Wandering down some pointless road to nowhere
I know how that would go – the battles I would face—
Forever running, but losing the race...
Were it not for grace.

Forever running, but losing the race...
Were it not for grace.

On the lighter side, if you need a good laugh check out this post from fellow blogger Puffs Pocket.... here I am, sitting in an office full of men at 3:15 reading this post – C.R.A.C.K.I.N.G. up OUT LOUD…. I just couldn’t help myself. I admit, I do so many stupid things and embarrass myself more times that I can count, but this takes the cake! Read it for yourself at: http://puffspocket.blogspot.com/2009/04/friday-funnies_17.html. I guarantee you will laugh.... and if you don’t, take some happy pills and get over yourself. :) I mean that all in Christian love, of course..... ;)
Such a great song. Thanks for the link, headed there now.
ReplyDeleteLove the song! My family has gone through so much in the past 2 years that I really don't know how people who don't have God in their lives can survive LIFE!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the wonderful comments. They make my day! Also thanks for sending fellow bloggers my way! I love being a part of Friday Funnies!
Have a Fabulous Weekend!
Heather,
ReplyDeleteLove your post! Too often we feel like we have to be doing "great things" in order to feel like we are contributing to the kingdom of God. But we need to look behind the motives. It's only by the grace of God that we are saved, we don't have to do anything more to "earn our way in."
We should be thanking God and seeking His will daily in our lives and then we will be doing what is right and what is called for by God.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
