A few hours later Dad came home from his grocery store escapade and asked me how I liked my steak cooked.... :)
Me: "Well done, with nothing red showing.... and cooked in garlic....."
Dad: "Okaaayyy!"
"If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?"
(Matthew 7:11)
My dad gives good gifts - sometimes their not the material things of this world that I can hold in my hands - sometimes it's those lessons of life that he shares with me, things like how to budget my money, how to choose my friends, what to be careful about, and how much he loves me.... those are the most priceless things in this world to me. And I cherish them... every one. Because one day I won't have my Dad here on earth with me. But I know where His final destination is, and I'll see him again there one day.
I'm going to enjoy every bite of that big, juicy steak cooked in garlic - with some lemon juice on top!
*yummmmm-o!!* :)
Your post made me hungry! :)

You have a great "dad" yourself. Aren't we blessed? My father passed away on Dec. 2007. I truly miss our times together. Time with our family is so precious!

So glad that you had your dad who was intuiative enough to get you some awesome juicy steaks. Just reading your post made me want to jump in my car and have some Outback tonight!
ReplyDeleteI agree that I can't wait to see what wonderful things our God, our Father has in store for us, when he welcomes us all home.
