I am Elizabeth Bennet of Pride & Prejudice! I am intelligent, witty, and tremendously attractive. I have a good head on my shoulders, and oftentimes find myself the lone beacon of reason in a sea of ridiculousness. I take great pleasure in many things. I am proficient in nearly all of them, though I will never own it. Lest I seem too perfect, I have a tendency toward prejudgement that serves me very ill indeed.
What powerful, powerful words! This touched me so deeply today. The cross, what He did for us, for all mankind, for our sins. My breath is taken away at the splendor of who He truly is and the unimaginable pain that He suffered for us. Thank you Jesus for the cross. Thank you Jesus for always being with us at all times, but as we bear our own crosses here on earth. The words thank you seem to simple in comparison to what He did for us.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing this today.
You are a treasure sweet one.

You are correct: "Thank you" seems so little, words so unworthy.... But it's all we can offer in praise, along with our lives as we serve Him.
ReplyDeleteHE is worthy!
Oh! The button is something we can make on our own with a Paint program. You can design it however you want with any picture, but just make sure it is small enough to fit on the sidebar. Then upload it (I use www.imageshack.us) and link it. Do you know html codes to do that? If not, I could help you get the code.
ReplyDeleteVery awe inspiring.
ReplyDeleteHmmm.... I'm not sure exactly. I can usually figure stuff out by playing around with it, so I'll give it a try, and then if I need *HELPPPPP!!!* I'll contact you again!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! :)

Isn't it though! I cry every time I read this poem because of such a truth.
Jesus didn't have to stay on that cross - nothing "really" held Him on there. The nails did, but they really didn't. He chose to stay on that cross for you and for me - so, in truth, WE ARE the Nails.
Wow! hardly seems adequate to describe the words of this portrayl of the nail. I had a difficult time until I got to the end and then, like Emeril, BAMM! I got it! Truly powerful! Thanks for sharing this with all of us!
ReplyDeleteIt does pretty much hit you like a bag of bricks. But it's so true.
ReplyDeleteThank you to Ray Boltz for this beautiful song:
"Feel The Nails"
Verse 1:
They tell me Jesus dies for my transgressions.
That He paid that price a long, long time ago.
When He gave His life for me,
On a hill called Calvary--
But there's something else that I want to know...
Chorus:
Does He still feel the nails every time I fail?
Can He hear the crowd cry "CRUCIFY!" again?
Am I causing Him pain? Then I know I've got to change.
I just can't bear the thought of hurting Him.
Verse 2:
It seems that I'm so good at breaking promises.
And I treat His precious grace so carelessly.
Each time He forgives - what if He relives
The agony He felt on that tree?
(Chorus Again)
Bridge:
Holy! Holy! Holy is the Lord!
Holy! Holy! Holy is the Lord!
(Chorus Again)
I treat His precious grace so carelessly. But each time He forgives....
Romans 6:1-2, 14-18
[1] What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
[2] God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
[14] For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
[15] What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
[16] Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
[17] But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
[18] Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
Oh, I'm SO thankful for the grace and the mercy and the blood which "cleanseth us from all sin" (I John 1:7).
WOW! This pretty much says it all. I have not seen this before! Thanks for sharing!!
