A Bobble-Head + Some Tears = Revival

As I was driving this afternoon to my friend's wedding shower I was listening to The Crabb Family sing "Nothing But The Blood of Jesus" - singing along with them with everything that was in me! Anyone watching me probably thought I was in great amounts of pain, but I was rather enjoying myself! ;)

The traffic light was red.

There was a lady behind me driving a silver-ish-tan PT Cruiser and she was playing her "air violen" to whatever music she was listening to. Occasionally she would tap her steering wheel as if she was playing the drums. I though it was just so cute!

The light turned green. I began to drive.

Still driving behind me, I noticed she began to use sign language and (thanks to the deaf ministry of my church) I could recognize a few of the words she was signing. She was singing about Jesus!

The next light turned red.

I recognized the words "God", "Free", "Saved", "Blood", "Savior", and a few others. I was never more thankful for red lights in all my life! As I strained to better see the little revival that was going on in the vehicle behind me, I saw a bobble-head Jesus on her dashboard!

The light turned green. I began to drive again.

I continued to watch the lady sign while she sang her praises to the Lord. What a blessing! I was so encouraged.

The next light turned red.

The lady had stopped signing. She began to wipe tears away from her eyes. I almost started to cry. I was touched by this lady's obvious love for her Savior! She was not ashamed to be public about it! I was so thankful to see that there are still people in the world that are bold about their faith.

She turned right at the next corner while I continued on the road I was presently on. I could no longer see her revive herself in the Lord -- BUT I continued with my own mini-revival in my car.

"Oh! Precious is the flow that makes me white as snow!
No other fount I know! NOTHING but the blood of Jesus!"

  1. Oh how sweet! I admit, I catch myself signing to Christian songs as well and I forget that other people are watching me :o) I can't help but to be passionate for God's love!! It makes me feel better knowing I am not the only deafie that likes to sign along to songs in the car (giggle) thank you for sharing!

P.S. Here's a funny story, we were behind a van that was swerving on the road. It was an unique type of swerves and my mother told me, "it must be a deaf driver". We pulled up next to the van and sure enough, it was a deaf driver signing to a deaf passenger. We cracked up on the drive home :D

P.S.S. Thank you for your comment on my blog, I am a proud new follower of your blog so you will definitely hear from me more often!

  2. Great and powerful testimony, "someone's most silent worship that u had expressed into words". I think I'll remember "red stop lights" from now on as I drive because of ur post. Red=blood of our Savior. red lights=stopping here and there from the busy rut of life to worship our Savior Who deserves our praise. God bless and may He continue to inspire u with His divine wisdom!

  6. I loved this story. If that had been me, I probably would have cried. It touches me so that you picked up what she was singing. God surely meant for you to see that.

I am Elizabeth Bennet of Pride & Prejudice! I am intelligent, witty, and tremendously attractive. I have a good head on my shoulders, and oftentimes find myself the lone beacon of reason in a sea of ridiculousness. I take great pleasure in many things. I am proficient in nearly all of them, though I will never own it. Lest I seem too perfect, I have a tendency toward prejudgement that serves me very ill indeed.
