It's All About The Blood

Just a few thoughts on my mind......

You know....
It doesn't matter what religion you are.
It's not about what church you go to.
It makes no difference what race you are.
It matters not how old you are.

Salvation is of God. from God. in God. because of God.

Though it brings us freedom, it wasn't free.
It cost something.
It cost Someone.
It took sacrifice.
It took death.
It took the shedding of blood.

...for without the shedding of blood
there is no remission of sins.
~Hebrews 9:22, Matthew 26:28

It's all about the blood.
It's all about Calvary.
It's all about mercy flowing down that Old Rugged Tree.
It's all about grace.
It's all about sacrifice.
Redeeming love.
It's all about the blood of Jesus Christ!

Putting everything else aside, I have ONE question for you:
Are you washed in the blood?
In the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless?
Are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Lay aside those garments that are stained with sin -
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb...
There's a fountain flowing for the soul unclean -
Oh! Be washed in the blood of the Lamb!

Whiter than snow! - yes! - Whiter than snow!
Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow!
...................................................((Psalm 51:7)

"Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
~Isaiah 1:18

There's room at the cross for you!
Oh! There's room at the cross for you!
Though millions have come -
There's still room for one!
Yes, there's room at the cross for you!

I'm so thankful that there was room at the foot of my Savior's cross for me! No one is born a Christian. No one enters this world with a God-given right to go to Heaven when they die. Being raised in a moral, Christian home isn't enough. No one can do it for you. Being baptized as an infant when you nothing about what was being done means absolutely nothing.....

Listen friend, we're back at square one here: free will. It's our choice. It can't be forced on us. It can't be prayed on us. It can't be blessed on us. It can't be bought on us. Salvation is through the precious blood of Christ - shed 2,000 years ago on a hill called Mt. Calvary.....
~~ ONCE FOR ALL ~~
.....that the world through Him might be saved!

"For whosoever shall call upon the name
of the Lord shall be saved."
(Romans 10:13)

Not "might be" saved.
Not "hope so" saved.
Not "if I never sin again" saved.
Not "if I pay money to the church" saved.
Not "if the priest prays for me" saved.
It's not about other people.
It's not about what you can do.
It's about what Jesus did.

If you've trusted Christ as your Savior,
will you do me a favor....

Please, leave a comment under this post about when and how you asked Christ to be your Savior. I would love to hear your testimony. Then go tell someone else. The greatest gift you can give to someone is the directions to Heaven!

  1. I accepted Christ as my Savior on July 21, 2004. Although I had made many professions of faith throughout my life, there was still an emptiness in my heart. I would always feel conviction when salvation was the topic being preached about.

It was at our church's annual Tent Meeting that I asked Hesus to come in my heart and save me. It was a Tuesday night that Evangelist Ted Alexander preached a strong, convicting, and moving message on hell. The entire night, I was scared. I was trembling. Tears were streaming down my face as I thought of the possibility of me going to hell for all eternity without Jesus. I went home that night, not making a decision.

    Pride got in the way.

The next night, I went back. The message preached the night before never left my memory. All day, it consumed my thoughts. The first preacher that night was Bro. Jack Parchman. I cant remember what the message was that he preached. The only thing I remember was trembling and crying, thinking surely I was going to do and go to hell. During the hand-shaking time in between preachers, I went and found my youth leader, Mrs. King, and asked to speak to her. We walked over to the food tent and sat down. I was still balling my eyes out and had a difficult time gaining composure. We started talking and I put off what I wanted to ask her. We talked about our brothers. She then finally said to me, "Ashley, are you going to let your brother get in the way of you accepting Jesus as your Savior?"

I then bowed my head and asked Jesus to come into my heart and save me.

We missed the entire second part of the service, but the angels were rejoicing that night over a sinner finding their way back home.

    Praise the Lord!!!!!

  2. Well, okay, I'll be first.
My husband and I met each other in a denominational college, and we were both lost. We dated a couple of years and split up. He got wonderfully saved, and the next time I saw him I thought he was a nut. :o) Very long story short, he led me to Christ and the King James Bible, we were married, now he's a preacher and I'm a preacher's wife. *shudder* (Never in my wildest dreams...) Praise the Lord.

I love this post, the part about the BLOOD. Thanks for reminding me!!!

  3. My "testimony" is way to long to put here, as it took me a while to get where I am today... with small steps, not one big moment. But I thank God everyday for His Faithfulness because He didn't give up when everyone else in this world did. Thank you for being so beautiful, and sharing this with us :)

  4. I was saved when I was 22 years old. I had been going to church and one day while we were out fishing I was so scared as we went into those high brush places where no one could see us. I kept thinking, "If this boat were to tip over and I drowned, I would go to hell" I didn't enjoy that fishing trip. It was on a Wed. night and when we got to church, I couldn't wait for the invitation. I don't even remember what he preached on, I just knew I wanted to hit that alter. I could have gotten saved in the boat, but I didn't know it. I could have gotten saved when I got to church or got home, but I just didn't know it. What a relief to have Christ lift the weight of sin off of my life and give me a new start.

  5. WOW! What a way to start off a Friday morning! What a blessing all of your testimonies were this morning - I am fired up!

God is so good. We don't deserve His grace. We don't deserve His mercy. We deserve Hell - but while we were YET sinners, Christ died for us! Praise Jesus!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you again for sharing what the Lord has done in your life with me and all those who may ready this in the future!

  6. My testimony: On July 2, 1989, at the age of 25, I gave my life to Jesus. I have never regretted it for one second, it was the best thing I ever did. He took my dirty rags, and replaced them with stainless, sparkling white garments. He took all the broken pieces of my life, that were scattered like a jigsaw puzzle, and began to sculpture a new life for me. He poured His love all over my life, and made it so much better. My walk with Him has not been perfect, I have made mistakes, and let Him down. But, He is always quick to pick me up, dust me off, and forgive me. He has never let me down, always built me up. My greatest treasure is my salvation. Thank You Lord.

  7. Heather,

Thanks for a beautiful post on what it really all breaks down to when it comes to our faith in God, simplicity, pure and simple!

I am Elizabeth Bennet of Pride & Prejudice! I am intelligent, witty, and tremendously attractive. I have a good head on my shoulders, and oftentimes find myself the lone beacon of reason in a sea of ridiculousness. I take great pleasure in many things. I am proficient in nearly all of them, though I will never own it. Lest I seem too perfect, I have a tendency toward prejudgement that serves me very ill indeed.
