Drawing Nigh

James 4: 8 “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”

Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.”

Draw me close to You.
Never let me go.
I lay it all down again
To hear You say that I'm Your friend.

You are my desire.
No one else will do.
'Cause nothing else could take Your place,
To feel the warmth of Your embrace—
Help me find the way.
Bring me back to You.

You're all I want.
You're all I've ever needed.
You're all I want.
Help me know You are near.

I’m brought nigh by the blood of the Lamb. And I will never leave. For as Peter said long ago: Where else would I go? There’s no one else....
John 6:67, 68 – “Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

I’m so thankful for the Blood.

  1. The best time of the year to remember the Lord's sacrifice. I love that song! Great post! God bless.

  2. This is the time of the year to truly reflect on the sacrifice Jesus made so that we may have eternal life based solely on His grace alone!

  3. Verse 1:
    I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
    And it told Thy love to me;
    But I long to rise in the arms of faith
    And be closer drawn to Thee.

    Chorus:
    Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
    To the cross where Thou hast died;
    Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
    To Thy precious, bleeding side.

    Verse 2:
    Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
    By the pow’r of grace divine;
    Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
    And my will be lost in Thine.

    Verse 3:
    Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
    That before Thy throne I spend,
    When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
    I commune as friend with friend!

    Verse 4:
    There are depths of love that I cannot know
    Till I cross the narrow sea;
    There are heights of joy that I may not reach
    Till I rest in peace with Thee.

I am Elizabeth Bennet of Pride & Prejudice! I am intelligent, witty, and tremendously attractive. I have a good head on my shoulders, and oftentimes find myself the lone beacon of reason in a sea of ridiculousness. I take great pleasure in many things. I am proficient in nearly all of them, though I will never own it. Lest I seem too perfect, I have a tendency toward prejudgement that serves me very ill indeed.
